Investigating
We are investigating reports of missing interface artwork and labels in Choroboros 1.0.5 for Windows VST3 after registration/reloading. We have verified the distributed artwork files and are investigating asset loading and caching. A corrected release has not yet been validated. Updates will be recorded here. Likely cause identified
We have identified a likely cause. Choroboros uses the first copy of its factory artwork that it finds, so an incomplete or outdated copy left by a manual installation can take the place of the complete artwork. The Blue, Red and Black artwork is first loaded after licence activation, which matches the report. A signed Windows installer that places the complete artwork inside the plugin is being built and validated. A corrected release has not yet been published. Updates will be recorded here.
Cause clarified
The affected report shows the free Green engine without its artwork as well, so our earlier note about the Blue, Red and Black artwork does not apply to it. The likely cause is that Choroboros could not find its factory artwork when the DAW first opened it. With the 1.0.5 ZIP, the artwork must be copied by hand to one specific folder, and Choroboros looks for it once per DAW session, keeping the result until the DAW is fully quit. A missing or misplaced copy, or one made while the DAW is open, leaves the interface without artwork. A signed Windows installer that places the complete artwork inside the plugin is being validated. A corrected release has not yet been published. Updates will be recorded here.
Resolved
A signed Windows installer for Choroboros 1.0.5 is now the Windows download. It installs the plugin together with its complete factory artwork, so nothing has to be copied by hand. The affected user has confirmed that the installer restores the full interface in Ableton Live 12. If you installed the 1.0.5 ZIP manually and see a plain interface, fully quit your DAW, run the installer from the download page, then reopen the DAW. Your licence, presets and custom engines are kept. Contact support@kaizendsp.com if the artwork is still missing.
Monitoring
We are keeping this incident open in monitoring rather than resolved. The fix is confirmed in one setup: the affected user reported in the original bug-report thread that the signed installer works in Ableton Live 12 on Windows 11. Automated Windows install, artwork and plugin-host tests also passed for the same installer. Testing in further Windows DAWs is continuing separately and will be recorded here. If you installed the 1.0.5 ZIP manually and see a plain interface, fully quit your DAW, run the installer from the download page, then reopen the DAW.
Resolved
Fixed. The new signed Windows installer installs Choroboros together with its complete factory artwork and is now the Choroboros Windows download. The affected user confirmed that it fixes the missing artwork in Ableton Live 12. If you installed the 1.0.5 ZIP manually and see a plain interface, fully quit your DAW, run the installer from the download page, then reopen the DAW. Contact support@kaizendsp.com if the artwork is still missing.
