Recorded straight from the plugin as it runs, picture and sound together. HEAT climbs from 30% to full and the pot goes from cold to burnt, and the soundtrack is the beat running through Stovetop the whole way, cooking harder as it heats. COLD TO BURNT

Thermal memory

Spice and flavor for your tracks.

Stovetop keeps track of how hard and how long you’ve been playing into it. Loud, dense passages heat the pot up over a few seconds. Breaks and quiet let it cool back down.

The hotter it gets, the harder it cooks, so the same snare can come back different after a heavy section. Movement and texture, without losing the body of your drums.

  1. HEAT

    How hot it can get, and how fast your playing heats it up. Turn it all the way down and the pot never warms.

  2. PRESSURE

    One knob of squash. More pressure packs the hits tighter, and the stereo picture stays where you put it.

  3. SIMMER

    Movement: woozy wow and flutter up top with a touch of width, from subtle to wild. The flutter stays out of the low end.

  4. POT

    A resonant ring from inside the pot. It blooms as things heat up.

  5. MIX

    Blend the cooked sound with your original. Keep it low for a little seasoning and the full weight of your drums.

New preset

SLOW DRIP

Slow Drip is the newest factory preset, built on a retuned SIMMER: woozy, tape-style wow and flutter up top, a touch of width and a watery ring that answers your hits. HEAT now goes easier through the middle of the dial and still gets as hot as ever at the top. The wow and flutter stay out of the low end.

All three are the same 24 seconds of the same source at the same settings, level-matched with a constant gain. Before is the previous engine at exactly these settings. Headphones help: the width is subtle.
