Start with stereo.

Insert Fold on a stereo track, bus or effects return. Its main control shapes differences already present between left and right; identical left and right channels will not become wider.

Your first sweep

  1. Start with Fold centred, Body at zero, Flavour Off, Low Cut at 0 Hz and Trim at 0 dB.
  2. Play a stereo source. Slowly turn Fold clockwise, then counterclockwise, and listen to how low and high width change.
  3. Return to centre, then explore Body or one Flavour at a time. Check the result in mono and leave output headroom.

Fold

Clockwise narrows low-frequency stereo differences and widens higher ones. Counterclockwise reverses the balance. Centre is neutral for this control. The degree readout shows knob position, not measured phase rotation.

Body / Freq / Damp

Body adds a resonant contribution. Freq tunes it; Damp controls damping. Higher damping shortens the resonance. Damp is not a time in seconds. Start with Body low and increase carefully.

Flavour / Amount

Choose one colour stage: Saturation, Broad Tone, Stereo Field or Phase Shift. Amount controls its contribution. Off bypasses the flavour stage. These are alternatives, not a stack of effects.

Low Cut

The Hz control at the centre of the spectrum adjusts the output high-pass filter. Zero means Off. It attenuates lows with a 24 dB/octave slope rather than removing everything below the setting.

Trim

Adjust output level and leave headroom. Width, resonance and colour changes can raise peaks. Compare at similar listening levels.

Display

The display shows final left and right output spectra on a shared relative scale. The lower traces are visual reflections. Orange highlights indicate output overload; they do not identify individual clipping frequencies or measure true peaks.

Appearance

Choose a finish, replace panel and knob artwork, or import/export an appearance pack in the appearance controls. These choices are separate from audio settings.

The main control is frequency-dependent stereo shaping, not amplitude wavefolding. Fold introduces processing latency, which compatible hosts compensate. Installation and verified compatibility details will accompany the final download.
